He raised an eyebrow and chuckled. “Okay, sweetheart. I can't wait to see what you've got for me. Am I allowed a hint?”

As I bit my lip, I pretended to think about it, and then smiled deviously. “Nope! You're just going to have to wait and find out.”

He smirked at me. “Using my line against me, huh? Well played. All good things are worth the wait though. Don't take too long, sweetheart. I'll be waiting for you in a nice, comfortable bed.”

I watched him walk away and then grabbed my bag from the entryway. Time to struggle my way back into this lingerie, I thought, hopeful that I could get into it in less time than it took the first time.

After a couple of minutes, I managed to get myself into the lingerie and I considered putting the dress back on for a big reveal. But when I saw the plush robe hanging in the bathroom, I decided that would be more fun.

Waiting in the bedroom, Kit sat on the edge of the bed without his shirt and pants. He was leaning back on his arms, but quickly leaned forward when I entered the room. Kit's eyes widened when he saw me and he smirked. “Look at you in a hotel robe,” he greeted flirtatiously.

I smiled seductively as I approached him, coming to stand between his legs at the edge of the bed. “I think you're going to like what's under the robe a little more. Unless you don't want your surprise, that is.”

He chuckled and pulled me back when I took a step away. “Oh, no, no. I'm very, very excited for my surprise, sweetheart. Am I allowed to open it myself?”

I bit my lip softly and nodded. “Please do.”

Kit pulled on the robe's string and it fell off my shoulders to reveal the slinky, black lingerie. I watched his eyes dilate and his tongue glide across his bottom lip seductively. He traced the length of my body with his eyes and when he reached my eyes, I could feel the intensity of his interest.

“Wow, this is, without a doubt, the best surprise I have ever received,” he breathed, running his hands up my body.

“And what do you plan on doing with it?” I asked him brazenly.

Kit grabbed my hips and tossed me into the bed, quickly positioning himself on top of me. I gasped softly and then bit my lip lustfully when his hardness poked at my core. He didn't stop there, capturing my lips with his as his hand roamed the length of my body, caressing, squeezing, touching every inch.

His touch set me alight and I felt a sudden nagging desire; I wanted him more than ever, wanted to feel a sexual and sensual connection as our bodies came together in harmony. It drove me to act, moving my hand down his neck and chest until I could slip beneath his boxers. His endowment filled my hand, warm and hard as I stroked it slowly, twitching softly.

I grinned when his kisses stuttered and then grew more aggressive, his once exploratory hands moving with purpose now. He teased at the sensitive flesh of my nipples, caressed the softness of my breasts, and dipped down the curve of my waist until his hand met the roundness of my ass.

Vulnerability and sexual desire fueled me as I flipped him over, mounting him eagerly. I moved my hips in a circular motion, grinding against his hardness in slow but edging movements. It built the ache in my core, the fabric of his boxers caressing the bare flesh of my labia as my arousal soaked into it.

Kit cursed softly as he gripped my hips and ran his hands up my body, his eyes darkening as they followed his hands. Pride swelled in my chest to feel his eyes on me in such a manner, to have his gaze on me the way I'd always wanted them to be. Excitement and anxiety accompanied this feeling, even though we'd already had sex once, this felt like our first time – and I desperately wanted it to be perfect.

I wanted to please him, to take his arousal and show him all of the ways I could make him feel good. So I kissed down his chest seductively, capturing every inch between there and his hardness as I slid down to the floor between his legs.

He breathed heavily as I pulled his boxers off, freeing his member to stand proudly before my eyes. We made eye contact as I gripped him tightly and gave the length a testing slide of my tongue. At the tip, I lowered my mouth over him and let the saliva that had built up drip down over my fingers as I stroked.

“Acacia,” he moaned softly, his hands finding my hair.

My name from his lips sent a wave of desire through my body and I threw myself into pleasing him orally. I licked, sucked, and stroked his hardness as he breathed heavily, stroking my hair and occasionally moved his hips in time.

Eventually, he grew impatient and sat up. The movement pulled his arousal from my mouth and I looked up at him expectantly. “I can't wait anymore. I need to feel you,” he whispered, pulling me into his lap and onto his awaiting hardness.

I moaned in surprise as he filled me, and eagerly rode him as Kit's lips set fire to my neck. His rough grip on my hips and ass aided in my every motion; the friction licked at my most sensitive bundle of nerves and I couldn't help but toss my head back in euphoria.

“You're so beautiful,” he whispered as his lips moved to mine, his arms wrapped around my torso tightly. It slowed my pace down to longer, drawn out strokes, giving me a highly desirable idea of how he felt sliding in and out of my aching core.

The animal desire that had been burning me up changed to a more passionate, vulnerable desire. One that made my heart race, that caressed every muscle in my body and sent warmth across my skin. I love you, Kit Harrison, I thought as our eyes met and he held my face between his hands, caressing my cheeks with his thumbs.

I gasped softly when my movements created a building pleasure deep within, eager hips quickening the pace of our sexual encounter again. I closed my eyes and arched my back as his hands once again found their place at my hips, aiding in my movements.

Kit stood, with his hands under my ass to support his movement, and lay me back on the bed softly. He captured my lips again as he thrust quickly and deeply inside of me, fueling the fire that built there.

“Kit,” I moaned against his passionate lips, wrapping my legs around his waist and digging my nails into his shoulder blades. “Please don't stop!”

He moved his lips to my breasts and captured each nipple in his mouth, paying equal attention as he licked and teased the sensitive flesh. I gasped when he grazed his teeth and sucked fervently.

“Oh, my god, Kit,” I moaned and panted as I dissolved into the pleasure of my climax, eagerly moving my hips against his with each thrust.

I felt him twitch inside of me as my walls contracted around him, his breaths uneven and hot against my neck as he placed tender kisses to the flesh. He groaned and whispered my name as he thrust quickly.

He tried to move away from me, but as he built me to another climax, I squeezed my legs around his waist harder to keep him in. My hips moved eagerly again, my selfish movements driving him to climax.

“It's time to wake up, beautiful,” I whispered, stroking Acacia's cheek softly as she slept, tracing the peaceful features of her face with adoring eyes.

She burrowed her way into me with a soft moan of protest and threw her arm over my waist drowsily. I could feel her eyelashes fluttering against my chest as she breathed deeply, struggling to regain her consciousness.

“I don't mind you being late for work, but I know you'll be upset if I let you sleep any longer, my dear,” I said, stroking her back and kissing the top of her head affectionately.

Again, she moaned in protest and pulled the blanket over her head.

When I vaguely heard her mumble something along the lines of 'five more minutes,' my first instinct was to let her sleep. But the night before she was stern on getting up by this time, so I chose to listen to my conscious girlfriend over the adorable and sleepy one.

“Nope, I can't let you do that. You told me to wake you up at this time, so you gotta get out of bed,” I told her firmly, pulling the blanket off of her naked body and quickly scooping her up before she could grab it again.

“Hey!” she exclaimed, squirming in my arms as I carried her to the bathroo
m.

I chuckled. “It's time to take a shower before work, sweetheart.”

“But I need more sleep,” she whined, rubbing her eyes tiredly.

“We can stop at the coffee shop before I drop you off,” I told her as I set her on her feet in the bathroom and smiled at her.

She stretched her arms above her head, yawning, and then nodded in agreement. “Fine, but you're not paying this time. It's my turn to pay for coffee, and I'm not listening to any arguments!”

I chuckled, smirking at her. “We'll see about that.”

Acacia rolled her eyes playfully and turned the shower on, pulling the shower curtain closed. I watched her for a moment as she tested the temperature and smiled when she turned around.

“Coming?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.

I got undressed quickly as she giggled at my enthusiasm, and then followed her into the steamy shower.

“What time are you coming into work today?” she asked as I lathered shampoo into her hair.

“Well, I have to make several phone calls, and I have to sign for a few things here at home, so maybe five or six at the latest. But if anything happens, you can call me and I'll be there,” I told her, tilting her head back into the water to rinse it out.

She moaned softly, resting her hands on my chest. “Everything should be fine. Stephan will be there, too. And he can handle things for a few hours while you get your things done. Don't worry so much, baby.”

I pulled her into my arms and smiled down at her when she opened her eyes. “I trust him to run the restaurant in my absence, but I don't trust anyone else to keep you safe and happy. That is my job, and if something happens, I'd like to know about it as soon as possible, okay?”

She smiled warmly at me. “Of course, baby. But I'm also a big girl and I can handle anything that comes my way, you know. I do appreciate your protective nature though.”

I opened my mouth to argue with her but decided against it and instead went about the shower with her.

Acacia had been sly enough to call the coffee shop ahead of us arriving and paid for it with her card beforehand. I admired her for being so clever, even though I didn't want her to pay for a single thing in our relationship. Seeing the smile on her face when I realized that our coffee was already paid for made up for it, ten-fold. Besides, she had no idea what I have in store for her birthday in a few months. God willing, she'd love it and wouldn't break my heart when I gave it to her.

“Tony, I need a favor,” I said into the receiver of my phone as I paced my apartment.

I heard him shuffling around on the other end, followed by the sound of his daughter squealing in the background. “Eli! I need you to come grab Mila, please. I'm on the phone!” he shouted, and then I heard his wife speaking to him in Spanish for a moment before the line went quiet.

“Sorry about that, man. What's up?” He sighed a few moments later.

“I need you to help me pick out the perfect ring, and I know you have a reliable guy or two. It has to be absolutely tailored to this girl. She's special,” I told him as I stood in front of the window, staring down at the mid-morning traffic.

“What kind of ring? A promise ring? Engagement ring? For the hell of it ring? Anniversary ring?” he asked.

  “Engagement,” I answered.

I heard him exhale deeply and then chuckle. “Finally found a girl to settle down with, huh? It wouldn't happen to be that girl from your childhood, would it? Oh, what was her name...? Acacia!”

“The one and only,” I told him fondly, smiling into the phone.

“Good for you, man! She finally looked your way, huh? What'd you do to catch her attention? Name a restaurant after her or somethin'?” he teased.

I rolled my eyes and laughed sarcastically. “No, nothing extreme. She moved back to town after college and just happened to walk into my restaurant looking for a job, and believe me when I tell you it wasn't easy to get her attention. Took me months to get her to agree to a date, but now that we've been together a couple of weeks, I want to start planning for her birthday.”

He inhaled sharply. “A couple of weeks? Damn, you're sure this is the girl you want to marry? How much do you really know about her?”

“I know damn near everything there is to know about her. We have known each other since childhood, as you brought up already. Not much has changed, Tony. I know all her favorite things; I know that she hates lightning and thunderstorms because they frighten her; I know that she is allergic to strawberries and pine trees. I'm not stupidly walking into this or anything,” I defended, pacing around the apartment again.

“Whoa, chill, man! I'm just giving you a hard time. You know I don't judge when it comes to love. I met mi esposa and married her two months later. I'll send you the number for my ring guy, but let me come with you. He is weird about new people coming into his shop asking for favors, even if I sent you his way.” Tony chuckled and I heard him tapping his fingers against the keys of his phone.

“I appreciate it, man. And don't worry about a thing, I'll call you with all the details once they're made. Oh, and say hello to the wife for me,” I teased and heard the sarcastic laugh on the other line before I hung up.

After we hung up, I called Stephan; something wasn't sitting right with me and I needed to check in on Acacia.

“What's up, boss?” Stephan answered on the second ring.

“Hey, I'm about to head over in a little bit. How are things going over there? You're not too slammed or anything, right?” I asked, trying to remain as subtle as possible.

“She's doing great,” he answered and I could hear the smile in his voice. “You should worry less about her; she's a strong woman and one helluva cook.”

I sighed softly. “Okay, well if something happens call me immediately. If something happens to her and I'm not there, I'll never forgive myself. Protect my girl for me while I get some things taken care of, will ya?”

“Of course, you can count on me. Acacia means a lot to me, too. Sort of like a little sister in a way,” he agreed, speaking fondly of her. “I'll see you in a bit. Don't feel like you need to rush through your stuff; I've got it covered.”

“If you say so. I trust you. I'll be around in an hour or so, unless something happens,” I told him and then hung up.

And of course, when I eventually showed up at the restaurant, Acacia was all smiles as she gushed to me about her day during her break.

“It would've been amazing to have you here at work,” she commented, wrapping her arms around my neck as she stood on her toes. “But did you get your important stuff done? When we get home, I'm going to want you all to myself.”

I wrapped my arms around her waist and smiled. “I did, so I'm all yours. I'm glad you've had a great day, sweetheart. I know you were nervous about working without me here.”

She laughed. “No, you were nervous about me working without you here. And I told you that I'd be just fine without you for a few hours. I appreciate your protective nature, but again, I'm a big girl and I can handle myself.”

I rolled my eyes. “Fine, I can admit when I'm wrong. But can you at least try and acknowledge the fact that you're small and I am allowed to worry about you getting yourself into trouble?”

Her lips turned up and she nodded. “Fair enough. I guess I won't be so hard on you about it anymore. Can I buy dinner tonight to make it up to you?”

Initially, the gentleman in me wanted to say no because I enjoyed paying for things, but I bit my tongue and agreed. “That sounds great.”

  Acacia

Things with Kit had been going great the past couple weeks and I couldn't have been more happy, and of course, when things were going great something had to come along and rock the boat. It came in the form of a random, threatening series of text messages that started a couple days ago. Nothing too scary, just a threat here and there about breaking things off with Kit. And only a text or two a day.

I ignored it at first because I'd never b
een the type to be easily scared by words on a screen. But as Georgia and I partied in the city on our girls' night, I got a weird feeling that we were being watched.

“Hey, what's with the frown? Aren't you having a good time?” she asked me over the thumping music in the club.

I shook my head and laughed it off. “Yeah, I'm okay! I might have drunk a little too much too fast or something. Can we get some air? I don't want to go alone, but it's kind of hot in here.”

“Sure! Let me finish this and we'll go,” she agreed, tilting her glass and swallowing the entirety of her newly made drink before setting it on the table. “After you, m'lady!”

The night's air wasn't too cold as we stood in the alley behind the club, leaning against the brick building with our heads to the sky for a moment. Even in the short dresses and no jackets we weren't shivering, but I couldn't shake the weird feeling crawling up my spine. It felt like there was constantly a pair of eyes watching my every move, and I was starting to feel paranoid.

“Are you sure that you're alright? You're pale as a ghost,” Georgia asked again, touching my forehead.

I laughed again, although this time it sounded awkward and forced. “I'm fine, I promise. Are you having a good time?”

She pursed her lips and crossed her arms. “Tell me what is going on with you. I'm your best friend; you know that anything you have to say stays with me. Who knows? Maybe I can help.”

I sighed and pulled out my phone. “Fine, but I'm probably just being dramatic about the whole situation. And I didn't want to ruin our girls' night by bringing it up, but I started getting these weird, threatening messages a few days ago.”

When I handed my phone to her, I watched her eyes scan the screen as she read through all of the messages I'd gotten. Her eyebrows knitted together and she frowned once she handed it back to me.
